5th ATS Spotlight!!

This is the last week being the Guest Designer for All That Scraps.
I am really going to miss it - sniff, sniff...

Here is my first card:

This is from the Gingersnaps Spring Things set. I {heart} this new Bloom & Grow paper from My Mind's Eye!! I used some Bazzill (teal) and Kiwi Kiss, but Tangerine Tango matches perfectly with this line too!! I also love this May Arts ribbon from ATS! I bought some in several colors!

I colored her using my copics, then cut her out and then used my oval nesties for layering and then ran the top layer through with my water drops embossing folder.

I was so busy this weekend I did not get to snap photos of the copics - sorry! :(

Here is my second card:

This cutie was made from the CC Designs Cookie Jar and Cookie Jargon sets!

I used SC221 and CC211 (Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink) for this card - I was trying to be an over-achiever - LOL! The DP is from We R Memory Keepers Tiffany line. I stamped the background with the baking items from the set and then inked the stamped images around the edges with Baja Breeze and the edges of the card base in Pretty In Pink. I added some glossy accents to the cookies on the tray.

Happy Monday to you!

4th Monday Spotlight @ ATS!!

Good Monday morning to ya!

We had a fabulous weekend and my baby (now 4) had a great birthday!

I also took an awesome Copic class from Asela Hopkins on Friday and learned lots of new techniques I can't wait to try! I signed up for another class of hers in early April - if you are local, she teaches at A Small Cleverness and I completely recommend taking one of her classes!

Here are my posts for the 4th Monday Spotlight on the ATS blog!

This was made using the Mushroom Friends & Friend Sentiments sets!

These bunnies are so sweet. I stamped my image, colored it using my copics and then masked it off and sponged Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze on the background. I layered it on Baja Breeze using my nesties. The card base is Pretty In Pink and the patterned paper is from the new We R Memory Keepers - Tiffany's DP. I used Glimmer Mist on my primas to give them some sparkle! The colors of GM I used are: Sea Glass, Vintage Pink, & Pearl. I used bling from Kaiser and Celery ribbon from SU to complete the look!

Here are the copics I used:

Supplies: Stamps - Mushroom Friends, Friend Sentiments - ATS; Paper - Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Pretty in Pink, We R Memory Keepers DP; Ink - Copics, Memento, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery; Accessories - Glimmer Mist, Bling - Kaiser, Celery Ribbon - SU, Nesties, sponges, white gel pen

Here is the 2nd card for this weeks spotlight - another one using the Gingersnaps Spring Things set!

I stamped and colored her using my copics and then cut her out and popped her up on some Whisper White that I sponged using Kiwi Kiss, Certainly Celery, & Cool Caribbean. I used Kiwi Kiss, Cool Caribbean and Pink Pirouette cardstock and inked all of them with their respective inks to give dimension. The patterned paper is We R Memory Keepers - Tiffany's - another one of their DP that has bling on it! Bling is a girl's best friend! LOL! I really like the new EK Success border punches - they cut right through the SU cardstock - unlike the MS punches.

Here are the Copics I used for her:

Supplies: Stamps - Gingersnaps Spring Things - ATS; Paper - Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Cool Caribbean, We R Memory Keepers DP; Ink - Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Cool Caribbean, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky, Memento; Accessories - Copics, nesties, sponges, pop dots, EK Success border punch, ribbon - Offray.

That's about it for now! I have one more week of spotlight for ATS, so be sure to check back next Monday to see what I have cooked up!

I am getting ready for my 2nd set of company to come in town tomorrow! We had company in over the weekend, so it has been a bit crazy!

Have a fabulous day!

More Flowers and some Blog Candy!!

Happy Thursday!

Sorry I have no new cards to post - I have been swamped with family stuff.

I am giving away my first BLOG CANDY, so keep reading!!

My baby turns 4 on Saturday, so I have been dealing with birthday stuff and preparing for company to come in town for the weekend. Also, next week, my brother and sister-in-law are coming from TX for a visit, so lots to do to get the house in order - plus dealing with normal stuff!

This is my baby. Doesn't he look sweet? He is really quite mischevious! Don't let this cute pic fool you! He is sooooo excited about his party this weekend and it's all he can talk about this week!

Anyhoo, I do have more pics of new flowers! I like these much better! I used 2 different patterns.

The ones with the holes in the middle are a little easier to make. Wouldn't these look cute with some BG Sugured brads in the center?? Email me if you would like the patterns - not sure if I can post the links here or not. I want try adding glimmer mist to one of them to see how it looks. I also want to try dying them using SU re-inkers (if anyone knows if you can do this, please leave me a comment)- this is when a copic airbrush system would come in handy! LOL! The white thread I used is a smaller gauge that makes a smaller, tighter flower and if I can just dye them that would prevent me from having to buy lots of other yarn. I still need to get a smaller hook, but have not had time to get one! These little babies have really helped pass the time at lacrosse & soccer practices during the week!!

Hopefully I will have time to actually use them on a card soon!! LOL!

I am taking a Copic Class taught by Asela Hopkins tomorrow, so I am super excited!

Okay, on to the blog candy....

What's on tap for your weekend? For a chance at some crocheted flowers made by yours truly, leave me a comment by Sunday (3/22/09) at Noon and I will pull the winner on Monday morning!

Happy Stamping (and Crocheting! LOL!)

3rd Monday Spotlight!!

Happy Monday, Y'all!

It's the 3rd Monday of my ATS DT stint and I am still lovin' it!!

The 1st project was made with a clear acrylic box I bought at my LSS. This little bunny is so cute peeking out!

I used my Copics to color the egg shell and then layered it on Certainly Celery paper. The belly band is Basic Grey Lily Kate. I sponged pink pirouette on the tag at the top and layered with my nesties. This was really quick and easy! It has taken a lot of willpower not to bust it open and eat the chocolate!! LOL!

Here are the copics I used:

Supplies: Stamps - Hunny Bunnies - ATS; Paper - Basic Grey Lily Kate, Certainly Celery, Whisper White; Ink - Memento, Pink Pirouette; Accessories - Ribbon - Creative Impressions, Copics, Nestabilities, sponges, Crop-A-Dile, Acrylic Box

On to project #2....

This card is made from the Mushroom Friends set. This little bunny is so sweet resting - wish my kids would rest more like that!

I used more BG Lily Kate paper for this along with some Pale Plum. I stamped this, then masked it and sponged Certainly Celery, Kiwi Kiss, Soft Sky and Bashful Blue for the background. I cut this out and layered onto more Pale Plum using Labels 1 Nesties. I then used my SU slot punch to punch holes to weave my ribbon through. I corner rounded all edges to give this card a softer feel. This card measures 5" square.

Here are the copics I used for this card:

Supplies: Stamps - Mushroom Friends - ATS; Paper - Whisper White, Pale Plum, BG Lily Kate; Ink - Memento, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Soft Sky, Kiwi Kiss; Accessories - Labels 1 Nesties, Copics, Corner Rounder, SU Slot Punch, Ribbon

I wish I had gotten more cards made this weekend, but I came down with a nasty stomach virus on Saturday morning and never made it out of bed until Sunday night! It seems like was have had a lot of yuckies going through our house lately!! I am ready for some 'change' on that front for sure!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Friday the 13th!! - Friday Sketch #53

Happy Friday 13th, Y'all!!

My boys are still home sick, so I had time to get a card out today!! Yay!!
This card is for Amy R's Friday Sketch #53 - AMYRS1. I really like this sketch and if you look back at some of my other posts, I have used one similar to this one many times.

Here is my take on this sketch:
I decided to crack open my new WeRMemory Keepers DP that I bought at Michael's this week. It is from the Madame Royale paper pack. It is hard to tell, but the creamy BG paper has lots of bling on it. I like this set b/c some of it has glitter and some does not.
A little bling is good for any girl, right? Click on the picture to see how sparkly it is!

I used this sweet Gingersnap from the ATS Spring Things set and Amy R's Friend Sentiments Set. The card base is Perfect Plum and I also used some Kiwi Kiss for layering. The yellowish paper is from the paper pack. I used Old Olive Twill ribbon - I really goes well with Kiwi Kiss. After I ran the orange paper through my swiss dots folder, I lightly sanded the dots to reveal the white core. I also added some white gel pen for accents.

Here are the Copics I used:

Supplies: Stamps: ATS - Spring Things, Friend Sentiments; Paper: We R Memory Keepers - Madame Royale DP, Perfect Plum, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White; Ink - Memento, Copics; Accessories: Primas, Nesties, Old Olive Ribbon - SU, Window Punch - McGill, brads, Swiss Dots CB folder

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.
It is supposed tp be pretty here in N. FL. I am coaching my first soccer game in 7 yrs! My 5 yo son, Parker, will not be playing b/c he is still sick, but I am looking forward to it. My 12 yo dd has her first lacrosse game on Sunday - she is really excited! Also, I am going to stop by LSS tonight to see some of my scrappy friends and pick up my Gina K 80# and 120# CS I bought with a friend - Yay!!
TFL!

Happy Thursday!

Hi everyone! I was too tired to scrap last night (dealing with sick kids is soooo draining as I am sure ALL of you know), but I did play around with my crochet needles and some yarn and here is what I came up with:

Now, I know these are not perfect, but it has been a long time since I have crocheted anything and I was a novice back then!! LOL! I still like the way they turned out. The colors photographed a little funky, but the colors resemble: So Saffron, Groovy Guava, & Perfect Plum. I need to keep practicing and try different patterns, but I think they turned out cute!

Anyhoo, look for some of these babies on my cards in the future - I promise to hone my skills before putting them on a card.

I will be practicing while I sit at my dd's soccer practice tonight from 5-6:15 and lacrosse practice from 6:45 - 8:15 - what else am I going to do w/no internet connection and stuck in my car that long?? LOL!

A brief note about my sick kids - thanks to everyone and their well wishes for my boys. I took them both back to the dr. today and my 3 yo she now wants him to have his adnoids removed and tubes put in his ears. He has basically been WELL a whole 4 weeks since Thanksgiving. We have been to Allergy & ENT specialists and he can't catch a break and keeps having asthma attacks. I am very happy that she wants to get these done ASAP. I knew that the adnoids were inevitable, but I am glad sooner than later... My older son, just keeps catching everything his little bro suffers from. They do think he has reflux and that could be exacerbating the # of infections he catches. I am really looking forward to having kids that are well more often than they are sick!! My 12 yo dd has only had 1 ear infection in 12 yrs!! She never gets sick, thankfully!

Sorry for the long post...

2nd Monday ATS Spolight

Happy Monday!!
Sorry I am just getting around to posting - it has been a whirlwind day - doctors visits, a visit to my son's music class, the pharmacy, grocery store, and then to off to 2 soccer practices!!

Here are 2 more projects I did this month for the ATS March Guest Designer spot! These sets are so cute and versatile!

The first one is made using Amy R's Friends Sentiments set as well as the Gingersnaps Spring Things set.

This sketch came from Amy R's Friday sketch AMYRS60(two weeks ago!)

I sponged the background with Soft Sky. I used my craft knife to cut out the fence and popped it up. I then sponged the grass with Certainly Celery and Kiwi Kiss and cut it out and popped it up in front of the fence. I then, cut out and popped up the duck. I added stickles to the butterfly wings. I used Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, & Cool Caribbean and SU DP (can't remember which one!). I punched out my sentiment using my SU Word Window.

Here is a close-up of the layering! :)
Here are the copics I used:
Supplies: Stamps - AmyR - Friends Sentiments, Spring Things - ATS; Paper - Pink Pirouette, Cool Caribbean, Whisper White, So Saffron, SU DP; Ink - Memento, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Kiwi Kiss; Accessories - SU Punch, Ribbon - May Arts, Copics, CB embossing folder, Stickles, Pop Dots

Here is the 2nd project for this week:

I used the Spring Things Set and Hunny Bunnies set for this cute basket!
It is one of those scallop envelope boxes made using 4 of the SU scallop envelopes.

I cut some Whisper White with my Oval Nesties and then sponged Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Old Olive and then popped up the cute pink bunny using pop dots. I used So Saffron, Old Olive, & SU Georgia Peach DP. I punched holes using the SU Slot punch to create the ribbon handle.

Here are the copics I used:

Supplies: Stamps - ATS - Spring Things & Hunny Bunnies; Paper - Whisper White, So Saffron, Georgia Peach DP, Old Olive; Ink - Memento, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette; Accessories - Copics, Nesties, SU Slot & Word Window Punches, Pop Dots & Regal Rose Ribbon

For a Sweet Friend

Two cards in one day!! Yay!

Things were much quieter today, but I did happen to have a little 'drama' tonight - Parker found a scorpion in his room before bed - yes a live scorpion! The ones here in FL are small - they look like babies and are a light brown - I am told they are not poisonous, but I do not want to test that theory!! I swiftly took care of him and sent him packing (down the bubbler - a little Flushed Away humor, lol!) We have found 6 of them in the house in the last 2 years - all but one, alive.

This is another Digi Stamp from ATS. This bear is so stinkin' cute!
I know I say this every time I color one, but it's true.

This bear is from the Sweet Treats Set from CC Designs and the sentiment is one of Amy R's new Friend Sentiments. I cannot say enough about this set. It is so versatile!

I really like this new paper from MME - Tiffany's - It goes great with the current SU In Colors and some of the papers are glittery - what more could a girl want? I used Kiwi Kiss as my card base. I layered some of the MME CS on top of it and used my Labels 2 Nesties to cut out the image and copics to color him. I used my EK Success wavy border punch - another cool recent purchase. I colored the ice cream cone and added some lime green stickles to it and popped it up on the tag. The ribbon is Creative Impressions.

Here is the inside of the card. This sentiment is part of the Sweet Treats Set.

Here are the copics I used:

Top O' the Mornin'....

Happy Friday!!

I am so glad it is the end of the week! It has been one of those 'Calgon Take Me Away' weeks!

As you know, my dd injured her ankle and was on crutches. Thank goodness it is just a sprain! She also had 3 baby teeth pulled this week. To top it off, yesterday, she decided she could try hobbling around on her foot and took off after our crazy dog, Nemo, that always runs under the fence....Well, her ankle gave out and she tripped in the street and skinned her hand, knees and stomach....Not a good week for her. Also, my boys had to go to the ENT this week and have their noses scoped - this does not feel good! My 3 yr old laughed and said it tickled, but my 5 year old screamed before, during and all the way home. He hates needles, not to mention a long tube being put up your nose (they do numb it, but it is not comfortable - I've had it done before)

But, it's Friday and today things are pretty quiet! :) So, I thought I needed a beer...

(not really - it's too early! LOL!)

I got this Riley a few weeks ago, but have been too busy to get ink on it until now!

I colored Riley with my copics and then layered him and used the slot punch to run the black ribbon through. I layered this onto this new argyle paper is from Reminisce and then layered on black CS. I used my new wavy edge punch from EK Success - love this thing and it punches like 'butta'. I typed up the sentiment and printed from my pc. I added a few green dew drops at the bottom right corner.

I went back and added some gold glitter to his shamrock, but did not like how it turned out.

Copics I used:

Supplies: Beer Riley - Hanna Stamps, Sentiment - computer generated; Ink - memento; Paper - bazzill, Whisper White, black - SU, Reminisce DP; Accessories - Dew Drops, Copics, Black Ribbon - SU, Wavy Punch - EK Success, Slot & Circle punches - SU
TFL & Have a great weekend!

A True Friend

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

It has been a busy few days around our house. Katie sprained her ankle on Monday night and then had 3 three teeth pulled the next day. I have been in several doctors offices this week!! Accckk - I do not want to see another one for a long while!

Anyhoo, I did carve out some time today to do today's sketch challenge SC218 and combine it with the ATS Design Challenge 39 (ATSDTC39)- Dry Embossing!! Pop on over there to see what the design team cooked up for this challenge!

These stamps are now available for purchase on ATS's website.

This cutie is from the Spring Things set. The sentiment comes from Amy's Friend Sentiments set - This set is an awesome deal - 25 stamps for $14!!

I used some new Pinecone Press paper along with Whisper White, Rose Red, So Saffron & Wild Wasabi. This is pretty bold for me, but I think it turned out cute! This was also my first attempt at 'blue jeans' with my copics - I think it turned out good. I cut her out and popped her up using a pop dot. I sponged the background using certainly celery, wild wasabi and bashful blue. I created the clouds by using a scallop punch as a mask. I used a white gel pen and some Wild Wasabi ribbon to add little accents. This was also my first attempt at brown hair - I think it turned out ok, but need to work on it... LOL!

Here are the copics I used:

Thanks for hopping by!

Big Announcement!!

Happy Sunday, everyone! I am on day 5 of no Starbucks and truthfully, I have not missed them too much! I just make sure to stick a water in the car before I leave the house - that way when I drive out of the neighborhood, I am not tempted to stop - I am always thirsty in the car - not sure why...
