Aloha, Y'all!! (LOL!)

Aaaahhhhhh, I am soo glad it is evening! I have been re-painting in my house all day - it's been 2 years since the house was built, so it was time to put a fresh coat on some hallway walls. My 2 little boys have left me lots of finger print 'love notes'!!

Look what came in the mail on Monday!! The new Hangin' Loose with Kona stamps from Eclectic Paperie. Isn't he the cutest? I fell in love at first site! I ordered them Friday, and received them on Monday!! What awesome service!!

This is a little switch for me since I usually make girly cards. I am happy to have some cool boyish stamps too! I colored Kona with Copics, added some stickles to the waves and cut him out using my circle nesties. I layered him on Summer Sun paper and then stitched some X's into the circle with some linen thread (SU). The card base is Pumpkin Pie and the DP is from Scenic Route's Grafton line.

Seas The Day!

Good Tuesday Evening!

Hope everyone is doing well. With school almost out, I have been scrambling to finish teacher gifts - ack!! I have one done and hope to post it later.

I had to take a break from that and make another card using one of the Beachies sets from ATS!! I used the Mojo Monday Sketch #89.

This is the digi Emma from the Beachies II set. I thought this sentiment is so cute! It's another one from Amy R's Beach Sentiments set. I have always loved the "Carpe Diem" or "Seize the Day" quote. I think it is very profound. I finally got my PTI order!! YAY!! These papers are all PTI.

I colored Emma with my Copics and then masked her off and sponged on the background using Cool Caribbean (SU) and Desert Sand (CTMH). The flower is another one I crocheted last night. I {heart} these things! The card measures 4.25 x 4.25.

Hello Sunshine!

Happy Wednesday, Y'all!

I am trying to turn over a new leaf and start working out again. I went this morning and I am already starting to pay for it!! My knees and calves are sore!! Oh well, no pain - no gain, right? I am really going to try to get in a routine, because I feel so much better when I do!

I loved CC218 so much, I had to make another card using those colors!

I am just in love with these new Pink Cat Studio stamps! This little mermaid is adorable. I colored her with my Copics and added some Eucalyptus Stickles on her scales and some Orange Stickles on the starfish in her hair. I cut it out using my new Deckled Rectangle Nestie and then sponged some Cool Caribbean around the edges. I layered her onto Summer Sun paper that I cut using nesties, ran through with my swirl CB folder and then sponged on some Desert Sand ink from CTMH. I layered this onto Kiwi Kiss that was run through with the dots CB folder and also sponged with Desert Sun as well as some VersaMark Dazzle ink in Champagne for some shimmer. The card base & tag are Only Orange which also got sponged with Desert Sun.

I think I did a better job making her look a little tan. She's not quite so pasty this time! I still need to practice more shading, etc.

Fun In the Sun Lily

Happy Tuesday Y'all!

The weather is icky today - over-cast and looking like the bottom will drop out any minute, so I decided to play along with CC218 at SCS since the colors are bright and cheery! The sketch came from LPS's Monday sketch challenge. I just got these Lily at the Beach stamps yesterday in the mail and could not wait to rip them open and get inky with them!

The color challenge was Summer Sun, Kiwi Kiss and Only Orange -

I was little skeptical and then saw a few samples and decided I LOVED it!

This is a great sketch too and one I am sure I will use over and over.

I colored her with my Copics, masked her and then sponged Desert Sand (CTMH) and Cool Caribbean. I used a SU Scallop punch to create the cloudy background. Used my trusty oval nesties to punch and layer - really wish I came up with the idea for these!! The two background blocks were run through my CB with the Swirls and dots folders. I then, added some orange stickles to all of the swirls. I stamped the sentiment, cut out and popped up and of course, added some more stickles! A beachy-girl can still have bling, right? ATS carries this awesome ribbon by May Arts - you have to see this stuff in person to see how shimmery, etc. it is! The colors are just beautiful.

I still need to learn how to create a 'tanned' look with my copics - Lily looks a bit pasty to be a total beach babe - any color suggestions, youtube links, tutorials on this would be greatly appreciated!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Happy Cinco de Mayo...well one day late. I did not get this posted last night like I anticipated. It has been a crazy week so far involving a 13th birthday, an almost broken toe and a very long wait in the ER!

My dd turned 13 yesterday...acckk! I am not ready to be the parent of a teenager!! She had a birthday party this past weekend and that is where the toe situation came in... The girls were running around and someone stepped down on her foot - OUCH! The good news is that it is a very deep tissue bruise and not broken. She also has a fist-size bruise on the top of her foot.

No onto the 'fun' ER story. On Monday, my little one woke up with a stomach virus (this is the same one that just had surgery 12 days ago). I decided to take him to the dr. because he was not acting normal. I took him in and she sent him to the ER for IV fluids and a chest x-ray b/c he was really dehyrated and had crackles in his chest (he has asthma) and his vitals were 'off'. Well, we got to the Pediatric ER at 11:45 am and sat in the waiting room (with a ton of people wearing masks) until 6:15 pm - yes, almost 7 hours. My peds called that we were on our way and also called throughout the day to try to get us moved up. I was so angry, it took them an hour and a half to triage him. It was the worst experience I have ever had at any hospital. He finally got hooked up to an IV around 7 PM and we finally got home around 10 PM. There is such a panic from the Swine Flu and I understand that the ER staffers are very overwhelmed, but I wish they could have been a little more compassionate. I actually had a few of the triage nurses be really rude to me for asking where I was on the list (after sittng there for 5 hours) and also for asking for ice chips for my son. I was very polite at all times, eventhough I was frustrated and worried about my son. I just did not feel like I deserved that treatment. I am still a little worn out from the whole experience. He is doing fine now, running around and acting totally normal.

I do have to give a special 'Thank You" to my fellow blogger and neighbor, Dee - she made a whole pan of yummy homemade mac and cheese for the rest of my family who was at home during the whole ordeal. She ROCKS! :)

Anywho, onto the card!

This little fashionista Anya reminds me of my daughter, so I thought it would be perfect for her birthday card. I colored her with my copics, sponged the edges with Rose Red and layered on Tempting Turquoise. The DP is from the Magnolia stack from MME. I covered the chipboard number with MME DP, used my craft knife to cut out and then spritzed with Hollyberry Glimmer Mist. I adhered them to a scallop punched circle (SU) and added some Rose Red ribbon. The white trim is from Basic Grey, I think.

The flower is a Prima I have had forever! I used a McGill punch to create the word window. The sentiment is from Amy R's Birthday Sentiments set from ATS.

Swing By Sometime

Ahhh,...It's Wednesday - my 'day off' - the only day of the week I don't have to drag my kids to sports! I enjoy it, but I am looking forward to school getting out!

Here is another card from the Enchanted Lily Set from Pink Cat Studio.

This set is so stinkin' cute! I ordered the Lily at the Beach set and am counting the days until it comes! I {heart} the beach so I am sure I will wear that set out. I colored her using my copics, inked the edges with Groovy Guava and layered the stamped image using my Nesties on Gable Green CS. The card base is Groovy Guava, which I embossed with a CB folder. The DP is from MME and was also layered with Gable Green, which I used a Martha Stewart border punch. I also used another one of my crocheted flowers!! Surprise, surprise!! I think the bling in the center looks really cute. I also used my MS fern punch for leaves for the flower. I added stickles to the leaves and also to Lily's wings. The image and sentiment were stamped on Gina K. 80# white cardstock using Memento ink. The ribbon is SU grosgrain.

Baked With Love! and Blog-aversary Candy!!

Happy Tuesday, Y'all!

It totally crept up on me that TODAY is my 1 yr. blog-a-versary!! I will be giving away some more crocheted flowers as a blog-a-versary candy! See end of post for more info! I really appreciate all of your sweet comments and support in the last year - it inspires me to create new stuff each & every day!

It is a beautiful day here in N. FL and I just got finished planting some plants around the pool! I wanted to get that done before my dd's swimming party this weekend and also before it gets too dang hot!!

Anyway, Changito has been busy whipping a little something up!

These stamps are from the new Stampendous Changito Baker set. I just melt whenever I see this cute monkey! I have so many Changito stamps and they really need to see more ink! Also, I used another one of my crocheted flowers! Sorry if I inundate you with them in the coming weeks, but I really like the way they turned out!! I also will be stocking up on Basic Grey Glazed Brads as they are the perfect accompaniment! I stamped Changito with Memento ink, colored with my Copics and then used my Labels 2 Nestie to cut out. I then inked around the edge with Pink Pirouette. The DP is from Basic Grey's Eva set. I also used Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette and Gina K. 80# white paper. I ran the card base through my CB with the Swiss Dots folder. The Sentiment was stamped on Gina K paper, cut out with the Ribbon Tag Trio Nestie and then sponged with more Pink Pirouette. I cut the cake out separately and popped it up with a glue dot. I added liquid glass on the candles, pink icing and heart on the sentiment. The ribbon is Olive Twill from SU.

Another Birthday Card!

Another card!! Yay! I rarely am able to crank out more than 1 card a day!

This is Fairy Chloe from The Greeting Farm. The sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio's Lily & Tweet Set. This card is for a friend of mine's daughter who turns 8 this week! She is a HUGE Tinkerbell fan, so I think she will love this! I colored Chloe with my copics, used Stickles on her wings and cut her out and popped her up on a Prima (see, still trying to use my stash! LOL!) The card base is So Saffron which I inked with So Saffron ink. The DP is Urban Prairie from Basic Grey and I also used a bit of Cool Caribbean - embossed with a CB folder. I used some of my Dew Drops stash, Word Window Punch (SU) and a corner rounder. The finished card size is 4.25 x 4.25.

Lily - Surprise!

Happy Sunday! I am really glad it's Sunday - ready for the kids to go back to school tomorrow. With my little one home for the last week and a half and his surgery this past Friday, I am ready for some quiet around the house. My little one will still be home with me for another 2 weeks, but when his older brother is at school, he is much more calm.

Anywho, onto the important stuff!!
My 5 yr old had a birthday to go to today, so I whipped up a card for the little girl! I am using one of the stamps from the Enchanted Lily Set by Pink Cat Studio for this card!

Yes, I am finally getting around to using one of the flowers I crocheted! Yay me! (Sorry, I have a 12 yo dd that loves to watch Zach & Cody!) I colored this sweetie with my copics and added some Stickles to her wings and then inked the edge of the circle with Pink Pirouette. I then layered it on Pinking Nesties in Pink Pirouette and some 'celery-ish' paper from Marco Paper. The DP is from Basic Grey's Sultry pack. The sentiment came from the Lily & Tweet Set by PCS and was cut using the SU word window punch. I also used my swirl embossing folder on some Pink Pirouette and then added sewing around it. The glazed brad is from BG's Bittersweet set - it matched pretty well.

By The Seaside

Happy Friday, Y'all!

It has been a beautiful, sunny week here in N. FL,

so I starting to pull out my 'beach-y' stamps. It was 86 here today!!

I LOVE the beach and cannot wait until we start going

to our condo this summer.

I have been working on this card for a few days now -

I have been busy and have not had a lot of time sit and finish something.

I think it turned out nice, but I might have gotten a little carried away with the Glimmer Mist - Click on this pic to see how shimmery it is! Sorry, a little GM overload, but it is soooo pretty in person!

This set is from Impression Obsession: By the Seaside. I stamped the starfish in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then colored using Y21, Y26 & Y28 Copic Markers and then covered in Gold and Bronze Glimmer Mist. I added multiple layers of GM on the starfish so it would really shine! I used Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, River Rock and Gina K 80# paper. I inked everything with Desert Sand (CTMH) and then spritzed each layer with either Bronze or Sea Glass Glimmer Mist. I added some sewing in white thread and then went over it with the Desert Sand ink so it would be distressed. I used the swirl and circle embossing folder from CB, my Labels 2 Nesties, Word Window Punch (SU) and linen thread (SU) to complete the look.

Here is the sentiment and GM on the inside of the card!

My other piece of news for tonight is that my baby had his surgery today.
(He had adenoids removed and tubes put in his ears.)
Here is the BEFORE picture. He skipped into the hospital all excited - he had no idea what surgery was, but he wanted it! Then once we were in the surgery waiting area, he got a little apprehensive - hence, this shot:
Shot #2 is of him after he woke up from surgery the 2nd time - the first time was not pretty. The pain meds had not kicked in and he was miserable! In this pic, he had downed a popsicle and was feelin' no pain!
Lastly, he got a wagon ride from the 2nd floor to the car -
he loved that and got to take home a new friend!

I am so glad this is over and am ready for the recovery part to be over too. The meds make hime hyper and then they wear off and he gets a little crabby. Also, I have to administer them every 3 hours - even at night for 4-5 days! Ack! I {heart} my sleep!

Blingalicious Ketto!

Sorry my posting has been so spotty lately,

I am trying to get back into a regular routine!

Here is another card using these cute new Ketto Stamps from StampingBella! Hope you do not go blind from the BLING!

This is Maisy Ketto. I think she is just plain cute - kind of shy, but you know she is a little wild too! LOL! Yes, this is another BOLD card for me. I am trying to challenge myself out of my comfort zone. I held true to my promise to use more Primas! Yay! I dipped into my old stash and pulled out some Purely Pomegranate to match this Over The Rainbow DP from We R Memory Keepers. It's bling-y like their other new DP packs and I like the bright colors! :)

It's hard to tell, but I added Stickles to her wings and her flower. (I really need to hone in on my card photography skills. I have 2 Canon Digital Rebels and depending on which I have upstairs in my office, some pictures are better than others - I need to work on my lighting, etc. tho) I also used my sewing machine!! (Told you I was branching out!) I did laugh, I was sewing away and I got 'shushed' by my hubby while watching Desperate Housewives! I had to wait until a commercial to finish. I created the sentiment myself using the "Curlz MT" font. The image was stamped on Gina K. 80# paper and cut using my circle Nesties, sponged with Purely Pomegranate and layered on DP cut with my Pinking Nesties. The bling is from Doodlebug and the ribbon is May Arts. Oh yeah, I snuck in my EK Success wavy border punch too!

The finished card size is 4.25 x 4.25.

Mojo found...sort of...!!

Hi there! Remember me? I am desperately trying to regain my mojo!!

It has been so busy with my in-laws being in town and the kids being off for Spring Break, but all seems to finally quieting down!

I am really trying to stick with my resolution to use up some of my large supply of Primas! The sentiment comes from Amy R's new Birthday Sentiments set! I love these sentiment sets she has come out with! The sketch is a really basic one. I tried to come up with something using the current SCS sketch, but found it was not coming together like I wanted, so I ditched it and moved on! I still love this fern punch from Martha Stewart! I added a little stickles to the front balloon for some more bling.

My In-Laws arrived from PA today for a visit, so this will be my last post for the week.

Here is another cutie from Hanna Stamps: (Sorry my photography is not the best on this card - in a bit of a hurry!)

Guess what 'Card Chicks'? - This is your April card and yes, they are already done. I am mailing both together! :)

Riley and his pal "Chickie" are resting on some grass sponged with Certainly Celery and Old Olive. The sky is blue with tones sponged from Soft Sky. I colored everything using my trusty Copics and then used Liquid Glass (CTMH) over the eggs to make them glossy. The sentiment is from ATS' Spring Things set. Oh, did I mention they are having a SALE?? Hop on over to All That Scraps before it's over!!

The DP is Georgia Peach from SU along with Regal Rose, Old Olive and So Saffron. I thought it was very bright and springy! I used Gina K. 80# paper for the stamped image. I am really liking how it works with the copics. It took me a couple of trys because it was so different than what I was previously using, but I {heart} it now! The Oval and Word Window punches are from SU, while the Wavy border punch is from EK Success! The ribbon is Old Olive Twill from SU. I also used a bit of linen thread (SU) to tie the tag to the ribbon and a pop dot to secure it.

My first Anyas!!

I made some Anya cards this weekend when I got together with my 'chicks' at a local scrapbooking retreat.

This was my first attempt at 'highlighted' hair. On this one, I did a lot of blending, keeping the darker colors on the outside and blending in. I like the smooth look. I used Pixie Pink for the card base and Baja Breeze for layering. The DP is We R Memory Keepers Tiffany's line. I also am usingmy new Gina K. 80 lb. pure luxury CS. The sentiment is from Amy R's Friend Sentiments from ATS.

I did her hair differently, more of a 'chunky' highlight look. I like the blended look a little better, but I was experimenting with different things. I really like this Bloom & Grow paper from My Mind's Eye. I used teal Bazzill, Tangerine Tango, and Gina K 80 lb on this card. I ined around the edges of the stamped image with Tangerine Tango. I {heart} this ribbon from May Arts!! It is available at All That Scraps. The sentiment is from Pink Cat Studio.

5th ATS Spotlight!!

This is the last week being the Guest Designer for All That Scraps.
I am really going to miss it - sniff, sniff...

Here is my first card:

This is from the Gingersnaps Spring Things set. I {heart} this new Bloom & Grow paper from My Mind's Eye!! I used some Bazzill (teal) and Kiwi Kiss, but Tangerine Tango matches perfectly with this line too!! I also love this May Arts ribbon from ATS! I bought some in several colors!

I colored her using my copics, then cut her out and then used my oval nesties for layering and then ran the top layer through with my water drops embossing folder.

I was so busy this weekend I did not get to snap photos of the copics - sorry! :(

Here is my second card:

This cutie was made from the CC Designs Cookie Jar and Cookie Jargon sets!

I used SC221 and CC211 (Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pretty in Pink) for this card - I was trying to be an over-achiever - LOL! The DP is from We R Memory Keepers Tiffany line. I stamped the background with the baking items from the set and then inked the stamped images around the edges with Baja Breeze and the edges of the card base in Pretty In Pink. I added some glossy accents to the cookies on the tray.

4th Monday Spotlight @ ATS!!

Good Monday morning to ya!

We had a fabulous weekend and my baby (now 4) had a great birthday!

I also took an awesome Copic class from Asela Hopkins on Friday and learned lots of new techniques I can't wait to try! I signed up for another class of hers in early April - if you are local, she teaches at A Small Cleverness and I completely recommend taking one of her classes!

These bunnies are so sweet. I stamped my image, colored it using my copics and then masked it off and sponged Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze on the background. I layered it on Baja Breeze using my nesties. The card base is Pretty In Pink and the patterned paper is from the new We R Memory Keepers - Tiffany's DP. I used Glimmer Mist on my primas to give them some sparkle! The colors of GM I used are: Sea Glass, Vintage Pink, & Pearl. I used bling from Kaiser and Celery ribbon from SU to complete the look!

I used Kiwi Kiss, Cool Caribbean and Pink Pirouette cardstock and inked all of them with their respective inks to give dimension. The patterned paper is We R Memory Keepers - Tiffany's - another one of their DP that has bling on it! Bling is a girl's best friend! LOL! I really like the new EK Success border punches - they cut right through the SU cardstock - unlike the MS punches.

3rd Monday Spotlight!!

It's the 3rd Monday of my ATS DT stint and I am still lovin' it!!

The 1st project was made with a clear acrylic box I bought at my LSS. This little bunny is so cute peeking out!

I used my Copics to color the egg shell and then layered it on Certainly Celery paper. The belly band is Basic Grey Lily Kate. I sponged pink pirouette on the tag at the top and layered with my nesties. This was really quick and easy! It has taken a lot of willpower not to bust it open and eat the chocolate!! LOL!

This card is made from the Mushroom Friends set. This little bunny is so sweet resting - wish my kids would rest more like that!

I used more BG Lily Kate paper for this along with some Pale Plum. I stamped this, then masked it and sponged Certainly Celery, Kiwi Kiss, Soft Sky and Bashful Blue for the background. I cut this out and layered onto more Pale Plum using Labels 1 Nesties. I then used my SU slot punch to punch holes to weave my ribbon through. I corner rounded all edges to give this card a softer feel. This card measures 5" square.

I wish I had gotten more cards made this weekend, but I came down with a nasty stomach virus on Saturday morning and never made it out of bed until Sunday night! It seems like was have had a lot of yuckies going through our house lately!! I am ready for some 'change' on that front for sure!

Happy Friday the 13th!! - Friday Sketch #53

Happy Friday 13th, Y'all!!

My boys are still home sick, so I had time to get a card out today!! Yay!!

This card is for Amy R's Friday Sketch #53 - AMYRS1. I really like this sketch and if you look back at some of my other posts, I have used one similar to this one many times.

Here is my take on this sketch:

I decided to crack open my new WeRMemory Keepers DP that I bought at Michael's this week. It is from the Madame Royale paper pack. It is hard to tell, but the creamy BG paper has lots of bling on it. I like this set b/c some of it has glitter and some does not.

A little bling is good for any girl, right? Click on the picture to see how sparkly it is!

I used this sweet Gingersnap from the ATS Spring Things set and Amy R's Friend Sentiments Set. The card base is Perfect Plum and I also used some Kiwi Kiss for layering. The yellowish paper is from the paper pack. I used Old Olive Twill ribbon - I really goes well with Kiwi Kiss. After I ran the orange paper through my swiss dots folder, I lightly sanded the dots to reveal the white core. I also added some white gel pen for accents.

It is supposed tp be pretty here in N. FL. I am coaching my first soccer game in 7 yrs! My 5 yo son, Parker, will not be playing b/c he is still sick, but I am looking forward to it. My 12 yo dd has her first lacrosse game on Sunday - she is really excited! Also, I am going to stop by LSS tonight to see some of my scrappy friends and pick up my Gina K 80# and 120# CS I bought with a friend - Yay!!

For a Sweet Friend

Two cards in one day!! Yay!

Things were much quieter today, but I did happen to have a little 'drama' tonight - Parker found a scorpion in his room before bed - yes a live scorpion! The ones here in FL are small - they look like babies and are a light brown - I am told they are not poisonous, but I do not want to test that theory!! I swiftly took care of him and sent him packing (down the bubbler - a little Flushed Away humor, lol!) We have found 6 of them in the house in the last 2 years - all but one, alive.

This is another Digi Stamp from ATS. This bear is so stinkin' cute!

I know I say this every time I color one, but it's true.

This bear is from the Sweet Treats Set from CC Designs and the sentiment is one of Amy R's new Friend Sentiments. I cannot say enough about this set. It is so versatile!

I really like this new paper from MME - Tiffany's - It goes great with the current SU In Colors and some of the papers are glittery - what more could a girl want? I used Kiwi Kiss as my card base. I layered some of the MME CS on top of it and used my Labels 2 Nesties to cut out the image and copics to color him. I used my EK Success wavy border punch - another cool recent purchase. I colored the ice cream cone and added some lime green stickles to it and popped it up on the tag. The ribbon is Creative Impressions.
